About Me

Thanks for visiting my website. My name is Marie Lang.

I have been providing mental health and supportive counselling services within my community for over 40 years. I believe it is important to develop an individual plan with each person who reaches out for help. People reach out for counselling with different reasons and sometimes they haven't been able to take time to fully understand their goals. Over the years my clients have taught me to take that additional time to get a common understanding of the work so we are both on the same page. It's helpful to do this before we get talking too much.

Throughout my career, I have spent considerable time developing expertise in working with individuals and groups; to help people find strength, courage, belief in themselves and happiness in their lives. As well, I have facilitated parenting groups, and worked with parents in individual sessions, resulting in improved relationships with their children.

I spent many years working within a community hospital, and have experience in navigating an often very complicated mental health system, to help clients find what they need.

I have provided management services within the social services field for over 15 years and provide consultation for organizational transformation and development.

Individual Counselling

Personalized support for individual growth

At this time, I offer individual counselling session remotely. As an active member of the Ontario College of Certified Social Workers, my license allows me to practice anywhere in the province of Ontario, Canada.

My preferred method is to conduct online video counselling sessions, however I am also able to proceed using only the phone, if clients feel more comfortable "off camera".

How long are the counselling sessions?

Counselling sessions typically last 50 minutes, but the duration may vary based on individual needs.

Do you offer virtual counselling sessions?

Yes, I offer virtual counseling sessions for individuals. I also offer phone counselling. Clients will therefore need a confidential location to participate in the video counselling, or to speak on the phone.

What are Marie's qualifications?

I have a Master of Social Work degree as well as a Bachelor of Social Work degree.

My training oer the years within healthcare settings has provided me with the specialized expertise that is needed to assist individuals with Anxiety and Depression.

I facilitated a program for many years, entitled Systematic Training for Effective Parenting, which provided me with the experience and training in helping parents who wish to improve their parenting skills.

I have also completed many other trainings throughout my 40 years of service to continue to refine and add to my skill set.
